ECOP was established in 1995 as a new product development
company for the Cable TV Industry. In conjunction
with major cable companies, we
began developing new and alternative identification
and protection products for the industry.
Our first project was to develop an alternative
product for the roll up or snap on cable marker.
The development criteria was to produce a marker
with the following characteristics:
- can be attached with one hand.
- the identification would be permanent.
- the material had to be stabilized for color and weather.
- pricing had to be equivalent or less.
After two years, ECOP and the Cable Industry field
engineers were satisfied that all the criteria had
been met. Our Adjustable Cable Marker was unique
enough that we received Patent # 5,896,826.
The ECOP Adjustable
Cable Marker is profile specific. Our design locks
the marker to the cable and will
withstand the most severe weather and not release.
Our next challenge was to develop a cost and time
saving marker for connected RG59 to RG11 cable. Removing
the hex connector is costly and interrupts client
service.
ECOP's Slip Loc
Marker was introduced in 2002 with immediate sales
of over one million units. This product
is placed around the cable and locked into position.
The Slip Loc Marker is made of a high quality
TPE and is rotary hot stamped for permanent identification.
All alpha and numeric characters are available. Patent
is pending.
